| In a summer dual meet, the first three places in a live heat are scored during individual events 1-40. First place is worth 5 points, 2nd is worth 3 points, and 3rd place is worth one point. No team can sweep an event. A team must receive 1 point unless they do not have a legal swimmer in the event. In the relays, events 41-50, 7 points is given to the first place team and no other points are issued. At the end of the meet, the team with the highest points is the winner. A score of 216 is a guarenteed win, 215 is a tie. The chart gives an easy way to tell how many points can be given in an event. Use the link below to obtain a printable score sheet for dual meets.
